Atelier Five
Zurich
At a glance
Atelier Five, at Turbinenstrasse 20 in Zurich, is a seasonal restaurant set within the Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel. Its food programme changes during the year, giving the dining room two distinct culinary identities while retaining a relaxed, contemporary setting.
From October to February, the kitchen focuses on Swiss flavours in a shareable format. Small homemade plates reinterpret familiar regional ingredients, while the fondue selection offers five variations on the traditional melted-cheese dish. Wines from the surrounding region complete the winter menu. The approach combines Swiss culinary traditions with creative preparation, making the restaurant suitable for an informal meal, a seasonal celebration or an evening centred on fondue.
The winter offering also extends onto the hotel terrace, where two mountain gondolas provide a separate setting for private dining. The gondolas are arranged for fondue meals in a cosy atmosphere and can accommodate groups of up to six people. The setting works for friends, families and colleagues looking for a more intimate meal away from the main restaurant area.
From March to September, Atelier Five becomes Nean’s Kitchen, with a focus on the cuisine of Isan in northeastern Thailand. The menu draws on traditional Thai flavours and combines them with contemporary techniques and presentation. This seasonal change gives the restaurant a different character in the warmer months, with aromatic Thai cooking replacing the Swiss winter menu.
Atelier Five suits diners who enjoy menus shaped by the season rather than a fixed all-year concept. It also offers an option for group dining, with the terrace gondolas providing a contained space for smaller gatherings. Reservations are available for the restaurant, while the gondola experience is particularly suited to occasions that call for a private setting. Lunch can be arranged on request, and allergy or intolerance information can be submitted as part of the reservation.
