Description
The permanent exhibition 'Switzerland in the Making' invites you to explore the foundation and early development of the Swiss Confederacy from the 12th to 14th centuries. Through virtual guides, multimedia stations, and authentic artifacts, you can trace the origins of Switzerland's Old Confederacy while engaging with historical figures like knights, muleteers, and Confederates.
Designed to be an immersive, sensory experience across three floors, the museum uses exceptional scenography to engage visitors of all ages. Visitors can finish the tour by dressing up as a knight or noble and capturing the moment in a photo.
The Forum opened in 1995 in a Baroque granary and armoury building dated 1711. It combines modern, spacious architecture with an important cultural history collection relevant to the Alpine region. Temporary exhibitions on the lower floor highlight current regional and historical topics. A museum shop is available on site.
