Moderne Bar & Karussell

Moderne Bar & Karussell is a bar and event venue on Pilatusstrasse in Luzern, with a format that combines evening drinks and programmed entertainment. The name refers to two parts of the venue’s identity: Moderne Bar and Karussell. Together, they create a place suited to nights that are built around an activity, performance or shared occasion rather than a meal alone.

The bar provides the setting for a range of social evenings. Its programme has included pub quizzes, karaoke and live acts, with music and entertainment forming a central part of the venue’s character. Some events focus on participation, while others bring performers or DJs into the spotlight. That variety gives the venue a flexible profile, moving between a casual bar stop, a group night out and a dedicated event visit.

Moderne Bar & Karussell is particularly relevant for visitors looking for organised nightlife in Luzern. A quiz offers a reason to gather around a table and compete as a team, while karaoke creates a more informal, audience-led evening. Music events add another dimension, including brass-oriented programming and appearances by different artists or acts. The exact atmosphere therefore depends on the event taking place, but the common thread is a social bar environment with entertainment at its centre.

The venue also presents itself as an event location, making it suitable for occasions that need more structure than a standard bar visit. Private or group enquiries can be directed to the venue, while the public programme provides regular reasons to return. Visitors from Zurich who are planning an evening in Luzern can consider it for a night that combines drinks with a scheduled activity or performance.

Its location on Pilatusstrasse places Moderne Bar & Karussell within Luzern’s urban setting. The venue works best for visitors who enjoy bars with a programme, groups seeking a shared evening activity and anyone looking for entertainment alongside drinks. Because the experience is programme-led, checking the event details before arrival is useful, particularly when the aim is to attend a specific performance or participatory event. The bar and the Karussell may also follow separate schedules, so the relevant listing should be checked for the planned visit.
